Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Nike Zoom Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite FG boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Thread the laces through all eyelets. Start with a looser fit and gradually tighten to achieve a snug, comfortable feel across your foot. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find what works best for your foot shape and preference.
- Break-in: As these are leather boots, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them for light training sessions or casual use before full-intensity matches to allow the leather to adapt to your foot's shape.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are dry and firm. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or soft ground (SG) may compromise performance, cause discomfort, or accelerate wear and tear on the studs and soleplate.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather football boots:
- Cleaning After Use: After each use, wipe off excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically apply a specialized leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent it from drying out or cracking. Follow the product's instructions.
- Drying: Remove insoles (if removable) and stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources, which can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
