Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Preparation is key for optimal results. Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and any previous coatings that might interfere with adhesion. Lightly sand bare wood to create a receptive surface, and remove any dust produced. If the wood is already treated or painted, ensure it is sound and stable, or strip it back to bare wood. For wood previously treated with a preservative, ensure it is clean and dry.
Compatibility:
- Suitable for use on most wood types, including planed timber, softwood, and hardwood.
- Not suitable for use on decking.
- Not recommended for direct contact with food.
Application:
- Stir the woodstain thoroughly before and during use.
- Apply using a good quality brush.
- Apply in the direction of the wood grain.
- Allow sufficient drying time between coats as per product instructions (typically 1-2 hours).
- A minimum of two coats is recommended for full protection and desired color depth.
Care:
- Clean application tools immediately after use with water.
- For maintenance, clean the stained surface with a mild detergent and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Address any minor chips or scratches by lightly sanding and reapplying the woodstain.
