Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
Your Merrell Agility Peak 5 shoes are ready to wear right out of the box. Simply lace them up using the integrated lace system to achieve a snug, comfortable fit across your foot. The laces are designed to distribute pressure evenly, reducing hot spots.
Compatibility
- Gaiter Ready: A dedicated Gaiter D-Ring is included on the shoe, allowing you to easily attach trail gaiters. This feature is particularly useful for runs in sandy, muddy, or debris-prone environments, preventing unwanted material from entering your shoes.
- Terrain: These shoes are designed for diverse trail conditions, from soft forest paths to technical, rocky mountain trails.
- Vegan-Friendly: The Agility Peak 5 is constructed with vegan-friendly materials, suitable for those adhering to a vegan lifestyle.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your Agility Peak 5 shoes:
- Cleaning Mud and Debris: After each run, especially in muddy conditions, gently knock off any large clumps of dirt. Use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) to remove smaller debris from the outsole lugs and upper mesh.
- Washing: Hand wash with cold water and a mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach. For stubborn dirt, you can use a damp cloth to gently wipe the upper. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources, as extreme heat can cause materials to crack, shrink, or delaminate. You can stuff them lightly with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
- Insole Care: The removable EVA insole can be taken out and air-dried separately to prevent odors.
