Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Daewoo Sienna kettle is straightforward:
- Unpack: Carefully remove the kettle and its base from the packaging.
- Initial Clean: Before first use, fill the kettle with cold water to its maximum level, boil, and then discard the water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
- Position: Place the cordless power base on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface near a suitable power outlet.
- Plug In: Connect the power base to a standard electrical wall socket.
Compatibility
The kettle is compatible with standard household electrical outlets (e.g., 220-240V, 50/60Hz). Its 360° cordless design makes it versatile for various kitchen layouts.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care ensures longevity and optimal performance:
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can damage the textured finish. Ensure the kettle is unplugged and cool before cleaning.
- Interior Cleaning: Regularly rinse the inside of the kettle with fresh water. For stubborn marks, a mild dish soap solution can be used, ensuring to rinse thoroughly afterward.
- Descaling: Limescale buildup can affect performance and taste. Descale the kettle every 1-3 months, or more frequently in hard water areas. Use a commercially available descaling solution or a natural alternative like white vinegar (diluted 1:1 with water) or lemon juice. Follow the descaler's instructions, or boil the solution, let it stand for an hour, then rinse thoroughly multiple times.
- Filter Cleaning: Remove the limescale filter and rinse it under a tap. A soft brush can be used to remove stubborn deposits. Ensure it is clean before reinserting.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kettle and base in a dry place. The cord can be wrapped around the base for neat storage.
