Troubleshooting
Lid does not open or close automatically.
Check if the 4 x AA batteries are correctly inserted and charged. Replace them if necessary. Ensure the sensor lens is clean and free from obstructions or debris.
Lid opens unintentionally or stays open too long.
The sensor might be detecting movement in a high-traffic area. Try repositioning the bin to a less active spot. Ensure no direct sunlight or bright artificial light is shining directly onto the sensor, which can interfere with its operation.
Bin liner slips down into the bin.
Ensure the retainer ring is correctly positioned over the bin liner, holding it securely against the bin's rim. Double-check that you are using a 45-litre bin liner, as smaller sizes may not fit properly.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the bin from its packaging.
- Insert Batteries: Locate the battery compartment, usually on the underside of the lid. Insert 4 x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
- Place Bin Liner: Lift the retainer ring from the bin. Drape your preferred 45-litre bin liner into the bin, ensuring the edges are neatly folded over the rim. Place the retainer ring back over the liner to secure it in place.
- Position: Place the bin in your desired location, ensuring the sensor area is clear of obstructions.

- Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can damage the retro coating.
- Cleaning the Sensor: Gently wipe the infrared sensor area with a clean, dry cloth to ensure optimal performance. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the sensor.
- Interior Cleaning: Periodically clean the inside of the bin with warm, soapy water. Ensure it is completely dry before placing a new bin liner.
