Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely but not overly tight. The low-cut Flyknit collar is designed for a snug fit, so adjust laces to complement this.
- Initial Wear: Wear boots for a short period before a full match or training session to allow them to conform to your foot shape. This helps with the break-in process.
Compatibility
These boots are Firm Ground (FG) specific. They are designed for optimal performance on natural grass pitches that are firm and not excessively wet or muddy. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or soft ground (SG) surfaces can lead to reduced performance, accelerated wear, and potential injury.
Care
- Cleaning After Use: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud with a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers, which can damage the Gripknit material.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can cause materials to stiffen, crack, or shrink.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Submerging: While Gripknit enhances control in wet conditions, avoid fully submerging the boots in water for cleaning, as this can degrade materials and adhesives over time.
