Setup
- Connect the Smart-UPS to a grounded power outlet.
- Connect your equipment to the battery-backed and surge-protected outlets. Prioritize connecting critical devices to these outlets.
- Install the PowerChute Personal Edition software on your computer via the included CD or download it from the APC website. This software enables monitoring and management of the UPS.
- Connect the USB cable from the UPS to your computer to enable communication with the PowerChute software.
- For remote monitoring, connect the UPS to your network via the Ethernet port and configure the SmartConnect feature.
Compatibility
The APC Smart-UPS SMT750IC is compatible with a wide range of devices, including computers, servers, network equipment, and point-of-sale systems. Ensure that the total power consumption of your connected devices does not exceed the UPS's output capacity of 500W / 0.75 kVA. The PowerChute software supports various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Care
- Battery Replacement: Replace the battery every 3-5 years, or when indicated by the UPS. Use only genuine APC replacement batteries (RBC48).
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the UPS to prevent overheating. Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the UPS with a dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Testing: Regularly test the UPS by simulating a power outage. This verifies that the unit is functioning correctly.
