Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure your surface is thoroughly clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any dust, grease, or loose particles. For best adhesion, lightly sand any rough patches and wipe clean.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the surface you intend to cover, adding a slight overhang (1-2 cm) on all sides for trimming. Use the grid lines on the backing paper for precise straight cuts with a sharp utility knife or scissors.
- Peel and Apply: Peel back about 5-10 cm of the backing paper from one edge. Align the exposed adhesive edge of the film with your starting point on the surface.
- Smooth and Adhere: Slowly and steadily peel away the remaining backing paper with one hand, while simultaneously smoothing the film onto the surface with a squeegee, soft cloth, or plastic card in the other hand. Work from the center outwards to push out air bubbles.
- Trim Excess: Once the entire surface is covered, carefully trim any excess film using a sharp utility knife along the edges for a clean finish.
Compatibility
This d-c-fix film is ideal for a wide range of smooth, non-porous surfaces, including:
- Laminate furniture
- Wood (painted, varnished, or smooth raw wood)
- Metal
- Plastic
- Glass
- Painted walls (smooth finish)
Avoid highly textured, porous, or rough surfaces, as these may lead to poor adhesion and an uneven finish.
Care Instructions
- Cleaning: To clean, simply wipe the film's surface with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools that could damage the finish.
- Heat Protection: While heat resistant up to 75°C, always use trivets or heat pads for extremely hot items like pots and pans removed directly from the stove or oven to prevent potential damage or discoloration.
- Sharp Objects: Avoid dragging sharp objects across the surface to prevent scratches or tears in the film.
