Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare Walls: Ensure walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free of loose paint or plaster. Fill any holes or cracks and sand smooth. Apply a good quality primer or wallpaper sizing for best adhesion and easier future removal.
- Measure and Cut: Measure your wall height and cut wallpaper strips, adding an extra 2-4 inches to the top and bottom for trimming. Pay close attention to pattern matching for subsequent strips.
- Apply Paste: This wallpaper is typically `paste-the-paper` or `paste-the-wall`. Consult the label for specific instructions. If `paste-the-paper`, apply paste evenly to the back of the strip and 'book' (fold paste-to-paste) for a few minutes. If `paste-the-wall`, apply paste directly to the wall section for the first strip.
- Hang Strips: Start from a plumb line (vertical line) to ensure straightness. Smooth out bubbles with a wallpaper brush or smoother, working from the center outwards. Trim excess at the ceiling and baseboard with a sharp knife.
- Clean Up: Gently wipe away any excess paste with a damp sponge immediately.
Compatibility:
This wallpaper is suitable for most interior dry rooms. Avoid areas with high humidity or direct water contact unless specified otherwise. It adheres best to smooth, properly prepared plaster, drywall, or previously wallpapered surfaces.
Care:
For general cleaning, gently wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh scrubbing, as this can damage the metallic finish and embossed texture. Dab any spills immediately to prevent staining.
