The Saucony Peregrine 16 is a high-performance trail running shoe designed for adult male runners seeking reliable traction and comfort on rugged, unpredictable terrain. It excels at providing stability and grip on mountain paths and uneven surfaces through its advanced cushioning and specialized outsole, though users should note that the 4mm drop may require an adjustment period if they are accustomed to traditional high-drop road shoes.

The standard version features a technical mesh upper designed for breathability. It is not marketed as waterproof.
The Peregrine 16 has a 4mm drop, which promotes a more neutral, ground-connected foot strike.
While you can run on roads to reach a trail, the lugged outsole will wear down faster and feel firmer than a dedicated road trainer.
Use a stiff-bristled brush to remove debris from between the lugs after your run.
The Peregrine 16 follows standard athletic sizing; if you typically require wide-width shoes, consider checking availability for specific wide versions.
The shoe is optimized for uneven trails. Avoid using these on extended road runs to prevent uneven lug wear and feel.
Use a damp cloth and mild soap to gently wipe the mesh. Do not machine wash, as this can damage the structural adhesives.
The 4mm drop places more load on the lower leg. Reduce your initial mileage to allow your muscles time to adapt.
The Peregrine 16 requires no mechanical setup; however, runners transitioning from a higher heel-to-toe drop should gradually introduce these into their rotation to allow calf and Achilles muscles to adapt to the 4mm offset. For care, keep the shoes away from direct high heat, which can degrade the midsole foam. After muddy runs, allow the shoes to air dry naturally with the insoles removed. Use a soft brush to remove dried mud from the outsole lugs to maintain maximum traction for the next outing.
