Gently brush off loose dirt with a soft brush. For stains, use a mild soap and water mixture with a damp cloth. Allow to air dry completely away from direct heat.
The Chuck 70s are generally known to run slightly large. It's often recommended to consider sizing down half a size, especially if you have narrower feet. Trying them on is the best way to confirm fit.
The Chuck 70 is a premium iteration featuring vintage details, a higher rubber foxing, more durable canvas, and enhanced cushioning (OrthoLite® insole) for superior comfort and a retro aesthetic compared to the standard Chuck Taylor All Star.
The Chuck 70 has a relatively standard fit. While the canvas can stretch slightly, individuals with very wide feet might find them snug, especially in the toe box. The lacing system allows for some adjustment.
The canvas material is not waterproof. While they can handle light moisture, prolonged exposure to rain or wet conditions is not recommended as it can saturate the canvas and affect the shoe's integrity and appearance.
The sole is made of durable rubber, designed to provide traction and longevity.
The break-in period can vary. Some users find them comfortable from the first wear, while others may need a week or two of intermittent wear to achieve full comfort as the canvas molds to their foot.
Wear the shoes for short periods initially to allow the canvas to break in and conform to your foot shape. Wearing thicker socks can also help stretch them slightly.
This can occur with new canvas shoes, especially in darker colors. Washing your socks before first wear and ensuring the shoes are dry can minimize this. A fabric protector spray might also help.
Ensure you are tying a secure knot. If the laces are slippery, consider replacing them with cotton laces or a different style of knot.
The rubber soles may need some wear to achieve optimal grip. If slippage is a persistent issue on smooth, wet surfaces, consider a light scuffing of the soles or a specialized sole grip product.
Setup: These shoes require no setup; they are ready to wear out of the box. It is recommended to try them on to ensure a comfortable fit before extended use, as some users may find they need a break-in period.
Compatibility: The Converse Chuck 70 Vintage Canvas High-Top Shoes are highly compatible with a wide range of casual attire, including jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses. They are suitable for adults and are designed with a unisex fit.
