Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Regatta Hamara IV jacket is straightforward. Simply put it on as your outermost layer. Adjust the drawstrings on the technical wire peaked hood to ensure a snug fit that shields your face without hindering your vision. The part elasticated cuffs are designed for immediate comfort and do not require adjustment.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed as a waterproof and breathable shell. For warmth in colder conditions, it is intended to be worn over insulating layers such as fleeces or base layers. It pairs well with typical hiking trousers and boots, providing head-to-toe weather protection for various outdoor activities.
Care
Proper care will maintain the jacket's performance and longevity:
- Washing: Close all zippers and fasteners before washing. Machine wash cold (around 30°C) on a gentle cycle using a technical wash specifically designed for waterproof outerwear. Avoid biological detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach, as these can impair the waterproof membrane and DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish.
- Drying: Hang to dry naturally. Avoid tumble drying or direct heat, as high temperatures can damage the fabric and waterproof coating.
- Re-proofing: Over time, the DWR finish may wear off, causing the fabric to 'wet out' (absorb water instead of beading it). If this happens, clean the jacket and apply a suitable DWR re-proofing spray or wash-in product, following the product's instructions. This helps to restore the jacket's water-repellent properties.
- Storage: Store the jacket in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
