The Regatta Hamara IV is a waterproof and breathable shell jacket, designed to protect you from rain and wind. It does not provide significant insulation on its own. For cold winter conditions, you will need to wear appropriate insulating layers (like a fleece or down jacket) underneath.

Close all zips and fastenings. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, preferably using a specialist technical wash for waterproof clothing. Avoid using fabric softeners, bleach, or biological detergents as they can damage the waterproof membrane and DWR coating. Air dry away from direct heat.

The jacket features zip pockets, which offer good protection against light rain and splashes for your essentials. For highly sensitive items like electronics in heavy downpours, it is always recommended to place them in an additional dry bag or waterproof pouch inside the pockets for maximum protection.

A wire peaked hood has a semi-rigid wire sewn into the brim, allowing you to shape and mold the peak. This helps it maintain its form against wind, prevents rain from dripping directly onto your face, and provides better peripheral vision compared to a floppy hood.

This refers to polyester fabric made from recycled plastic materials, which helps reduce waste and resource consumption. The 'textured' aspect means the fabric has a non-smooth surface, often enhancing durability, feel, and sometimes water repellency.

This could be due to internal condensation (lack of breathability) or a compromised DWR finish. Ensure you're not overheating and that the jacket's DWR is intact. If water isn't beading on the surface, clean the jacket and apply a re-proofing treatment. Also, check for any tears or damage to the fabric that might compromise the waterproof barrier.

Utilize the adjusters on the technical wire peaked hood. The drawstrings allow you to tighten it around your face, and the wire peak can be molded to provide better coverage and stability against wind and rain. Experiment with different tensions to find the most secure and comfortable fit.

This indicates that the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the outer fabric has worn off. This is normal over time and with use. Clean the jacket thoroughly and then apply a DWR re-proofing product (either a wash-in or spray-on type) specifically designed for technical outerwear. Follow the re-proofing product's instructions carefully.
