Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
To ensure the best results and longevity of your Johnstone's MY Colour paint, follow these guidelines:
Setup & Surface Preparation
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the surface is free from dust, dirt, grease, and loose paint flakes. Use a mild detergent solution if necessary, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely.
- Fill & Sand: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
- Prime (Optional but Recommended): For untreated surfaces, significant colour changes, or porous materials, apply a suitable primer or base coat. This improves adhesion and ensures a more even finish.
- Stir Thoroughly: Before and during use, stir the paint well to ensure an even consistency and colour distribution.
- Application: Apply with a brush, roller, or spray gun. For best results, apply two coats, allowing adequate drying time between coats.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: This paint is suitable for interior walls, ceilings, plaster, wood, and previously painted surfaces.
- Specifics: Can be used on various furniture and cabinet materials, provided they are properly prepared (cleaned, sanded, and primed if needed).
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning Painted Surfaces: Due to its durable nature, painted surfaces can typically be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild non-abrasive detergent for minor marks.
- Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers, as these can damage the matt finish.
- Storage: Store leftover paint in a cool, dry, frost-free place, with the lid tightly sealed. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Disposal: Dispose of unused paint and containers responsibly according to local regulations. Do not pour down drains.
