It contains a powerful anti-fungicide to prevent mould growth. Benefits include being permanently flexible, having an anti-fungal formula to prevent mould growth, and quick curing with low dirt pick up. It has low viscosity for fast application and is certified under the harmonized European standard EN15651 for fa ade, cold climate and sanitary applications in compliance with the Construction Product Regulation. It is suitable for sealing around baths, showers, basins, sanitary ware, fixing Pvcu trims, cladding and panels, sealing around worktops and laminates, sealing to metal, timber and Pvcu window frames, pointing around window and door Frames, aluminium gutter sealing, and general draught proofing. It is not recommended for aquarium manufacture (use EVERFLEX AQUAMATE), use with bitumen or asphalt (use WEATHERMATE), highly porous surfaces like new concrete or stonework (priming advised or use SILICONE 450), substrates that may bleed oils, solvent or plasticisers, or in the vicinity of or in conjunction with the edge sealant of double glazed units (use SILICONE 450). It is also not recommended for perimeter pointing of upvc (use SILICONE HM60 or SILICONE 450), or on soft metals like lead and brass (use LEADMATE SILICONE). The product is non overpaintable. For best results, all surfaces must be clean, dry and dust free. All loose or flaking surface coatings, and old sealant and mastic joints, should be removed before application. Glass, metal and aluminium should be cleaned with a proprietary solvent cleaner prior to application for optimum adhesion. Porous surfaces may require priming - a small area should be tested first. Reference should be made to the recommended joint ratios. If necessary reduce joi.
This guide is for anyone using Everbuild General Purpose Silicone - Brown, a versatile sealant for various household and construction applications. The key benefit is its ability to provide a permanently flexible, waterproof seal with anti-fungal properties. However, it's crucial to note that it's not suitable for all surfaces or applications, such as aquariums or use with bitumen.

This silicone is suitable for sealing around baths, showers, basins, sanitary ware, fixing Pvcu trims, cladding, panels, worktops, laminates, and more. It can also be used on metal, timber, and Pvcu window frames.
Is this sealant suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, it can be used outdoors for applications like sealing around window and door frames and aluminium gutter sealing.
Can I paint over this sealant?
No, this product is non-overpaintable.
How long does it take for the sealant to cure?
The curing time can vary depending on environmental conditions (temperature and humidity), but it typically cures quickly. Check the product label for specific details.
Can I use this sealant in an aquarium?
No, this product is not recommended for aquarium manufacture. Use EVERFLEX AQUAMATE instead.
What should I do if the sealant doesn't stick?
Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any dust or debris. You may need to use a primer on certain surfaces. Ensure that the surface is compatible with the product.
How do I remove old sealant?
Carefully cut away the old sealant with a sharp knife or a sealant removal tool. Clean the surface thoroughly before applying the new sealant.
Is this sealant suitable for use with double glazed units?

Troubleshooting
Sealant not adhering properly.
Ensure the surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Use a solvent cleaner on non-porous surfaces. Priming may be required for porous surfaces. Check that the surface is compatible with the product.
Mold growth on the sealant.
Ensure proper ventilation and clean the area regularly. The anti-fungal properties help prevent mold, but persistent dampness can still encourage growth. Remove the old sealant and reapply.
Sealant takes a long time to cure.
Ensure the application area is well-ventilated and the temperature is within the recommended range. Excessive moisture or very low temperatures can slow the curing process. Make sure to apply the right amount of sealant for the depth of the joint.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust, loose particles, and old sealant. Use a proprietary solvent cleaner on glass, metal, and aluminum.
Application: Apply the silicone evenly using a sealant gun. Smooth the bead with a wet finger or a smoothing tool.
Priming: Porous surfaces may require priming. Test a small area first.
Compatibility: Avoid using with bitumen, asphalt, or in aquarium construction. Not recommended for use on soft metals like lead and brass. Check compatibility with substrates that may bleed oils, solvents or plasticisers.
Care: Avoid contact with the sealant before it has fully cured. Clean up uncured silicone with a solvent cleaner. Once cured, the sealant is low maintenance.
