Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Sowing:
- Prepare a well-drained soil bed in a location that receives full sun.
- Sow seeds directly into the soil at a depth of approximately 1 cm.
- Space seeds according to packet instructions, typically allowing for thinning later.
Thinning:
If seeds are sown too densely, thin seedlings to stand 5–8 cm apart once they have emerged to allow roots adequate space to grow.
Watering:
Maintain consistently moist soil throughout the growing season. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as this can impact root quality and flavor.
Sunlight:
These carrots thrive in full sun. Ensure the chosen planting location receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
Harvesting:
Harvest in the autumn, typically from September through November, when roots have reached a desirable size.
