Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Cleaning: Before the first use, wash the skillet with hot, soapy water. Although pre-seasoned, this step removes any manufacturing residue.
- Seasoning (If Needed): While the skillets are pre-seasoned, you may want to reinforce the seasoning. After drying the skillet, apply a thin layer of cooking oil, then heat it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for an hour. Let it cool completely.
Compatibility
These skillets are compatible with all hob types: induction, electric, gas, and ceramic. They are also oven-safe.
Care Instructions
- Cleaning: After each use, wash the skillet by hand with hot water. Avoid using soap, as it can strip the seasoning. If needed, use a mild dish soap.
- Drying: Dry the skillet immediately after washing, either by wiping it thoroughly or heating it on the stovetop until completely dry to prevent rust.
- Seasoning Maintenance: After each cleaning, apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the skillet and heat it on the stovetop or in the oven for a few minutes. This step helps maintain the non-stick surface.
- Storage: Store the skillets in a dry place. Consider hanging them by the loops or placing paper towels between them if stacking to prevent scratches and rust.
