ForgeFix Flat Penny washers have a 25mm outside diameter. These washers are bright zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance. They are often called 'Penny Washers' due to their similarity in size to an old penny. Washers provide a smooth surface for nuts or bolts to bear on, reducing the likelihood of loosening due to an uneven fastening surface. Their primary purpose is to distribute the load under a bolt head or nut face in various bolting applications. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation, offering a longer-lasting finish by forming a barrier and acting as a sacrificial anode if the barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide appears as a fine white dust and, unlike iron oxide, does not degrade the protected metal. These M10 washers have a 1.5mm thickness (with a potential variation of 0.2mm) and help prevent damage from over-tightened fixings. Made from mild steel with a zinc-plated finish for durability and corrosion resistance. Supplied in a pack of 10.
