FAQs
Who is the ASICS Novablast 5 best suited for?
The ASICS Novablast 5 is designed for adult female runners of medium weight who prioritize cushioning and comfort, making it ideal for daily training and long-distance running, including racing.
What is the primary benefit of the FF BLAST PLUS ECO midsole?
The FF BLAST PLUS ECO midsole provides lightweight, responsive cushioning that offers excellent shock absorption and a lively feel with every step, while also incorporating recycled materials.
How does the upper material contribute to the shoe's performance?
The revised upper material offers an improved fit, enhanced breathability to keep feet cool, and a comfortable feel, even during extended runs.
Is the ASICS Novablast 5 suitable for trail running?
The Novablast 5 features a high-grip outsole suitable for road running and light trails. It is not designed for technical trail running with significant obstacles or muddy terrain.
How should I clean my ASICS Novablast 5 shoes?
Clean the shoes by hand using a soft brush or damp cloth for surface dirt. For more thorough cleaning, use mild soap and cold water. Avoid machine washing or using heat to dry.
What is the main difference compared to previous Novablast models?
Key improvements often include refinements in the midsole compound for better responsiveness, an updated upper for enhanced comfort and fit, and optimized outsole geometry for improved stability and propulsion.
Can I wear these shoes for racing?
Yes, the combination of cushioning and responsive energy return makes the ASICS Novablast 5 suitable for racing, especially for longer distances where comfort is paramount.
Troubleshooting
Slight discomfort or unusual feeling on first wear.
The maximalist cushioning and geometry may require a short break-in period. Wear the shoes for shorter runs initially and gradually increase distance as your feet adapt.
Reduced grip on wet surfaces.
While the outsole provides good grip, extremely wet or slippery conditions can affect traction. Exercise caution during wet runs.
Upper feels too warm on very hot days.
While designed for breathability, extreme heat can still make feet feel warm. Ensure socks are moisture-wicking and consider shorter runs or early morning/late evening runs during peak heat.
Shoe feels too soft or lacks responsiveness for speedwork.
The Novablast 5 prioritizes cushioning and comfort. For very fast intervals or races where maximal stiffness and minimal cushioning are preferred, consider a more performance-oriented racing flat.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The ASICS Novablast 5 requires no specific setup. Simply ensure you have the correct size for a comfortable fit. The shoe is ready to wear straight out of the box.
Compatibility: This shoe is designed for road running and general training. It is compatible with most running surfaces, including pavement, treadmills, and dry, light trails. It is not designed for trail running with significant obstacles or extremely muddy conditions.
Care:
- Cleaning: After runs, use a soft brush or damp cloth to remove loose dirt and mud from the upper and outsole. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Avoid machine washing or using harsh detergents, as this can damage the materials.
- Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in a tumble dryer, as this can deform the shoe.
- Storage: Store the shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent odor and material degradation.
- Rotation: For maximum longevity, consider rotating your ASICS Novablast 5 with another pair of running shoes, allowing each pair to dry out completely between uses.
