Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
These boots are designed for immediate use. The primary setup involves proper lacing to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Ensure the laces are snug but not too tight, allowing for natural foot movement while preventing slippage.
Compatibility:
- Sock Choice: For optimal performance and comfort, pair these boots with moisture-wicking hiking socks made of wool or synthetic blends. Avoid cotton socks, which retain moisture.
- Trekking Poles: Compatible with most standard trekking poles for added stability on challenging terrain.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and debris with a soft brush or damp cloth. For tougher mud, use a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh detergents or solvents.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or fires, as this can damage the materials and the GORE-TEX® membrane.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: Periodically, you may need to reapply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment to the exterior fabric to maintain water-resistance, especially after significant wear.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, when not in use for extended periods.
