Polyvine Wood Dye is an ideal solution for DIY enthusiasts and professionals seeking a high-quality, even finish on wood projects ranging from furniture restoration to cabinetry. Yes, it is suitable for both interior and exterior use, though exterior projects may require a protective clear topcoat to withstand weather conditions.
Yes, the Polyvine Wood Dye range is fully intermixable, allowing you to create custom shades to match existing decor.
It is touch-dry in approximately 45 minutes under normal conditions.
While the dye seals the wood during application, applying a topcoat or varnish is recommended for added durability on high-traffic surfaces.
Cleanup is simple; you can wash your brushes and tools thoroughly with warm soapy water.
This is often due to uneven wood absorption. Lightly sand the area and apply a wood conditioner or a base layer of water to the wood before dyeing.
Polyvine Wood Dye is buildable. Allow the first coat to dry for at least 45 minutes and apply a second coat to achieve a deeper, more intense hue.
Ensure all previous waxes, oils, or varnishes have been completely removed by sanding, as the dye requires direct access to the wood fibres to penetrate.
To begin, ensure the wood surface is free from dust, wax, or previous finishes. Sand the surface progressively with fine-grit sandpaper to open the grain. Application is straightforward: apply the dye evenly with a brush or applicator, wiping away any excess after a few minutes to ensure an even distribution. The dye is compatible with various interior and exterior wood projects. For long-term protection, especially on high-use furniture, it is recommended to apply a clear Polyvine varnish or topcoat once the dye has fully cured.
