RIO Dacron Backing - White

Dacron backing is a strong, low-stretch line used to fill your reel and provide capacity for long runs by fish.

Use an Arbor knot to attach the backing to the reel spool.

A clinch knot or similar strong knot is recommended for connecting the backing to your fly line or leader.

Rinse the backing with freshwater after each use and store it in a cool, dry place.

The hollow core makes it easier to create secure connections, such as blind splices, between the backing and the fly line or leader.
