Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure your boots are laced snugly but not too tightly. Begin by loosening the laces completely, slide your foot in, and then progressively tighten from the toe upwards. Use the eyelets to customize tension, securing your heel firmly in place to prevent rubbing.
- Socks: Always wear appropriate hiking socks that are moisture-wicking and provide cushioning. This enhances comfort and helps the ISOTEX membrane perform optimally.
- Initial Wear: It's advisable to wear your new boots for shorter periods around home before embarking on a long hike. This 'break-in' period allows the boots to conform to your feet and reduces the chance of discomfort.
Compatibility
These boots are primarily designed for female adults (UK size 7, Black color variant) engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, and general trail use. They are well-suited for varied terrains including dirt paths, gravel trails, and slightly rocky ground. Their water-resistant features make them ideal for regions with unpredictable weather or environments where light moisture is common.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, especially when muddy, gently brush off loose dirt. For stubborn grime, use a soft cloth or sponge with lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents which can compromise the water-resistant finish.
- Drying: Always allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or campfires, as extreme heat can damage the materials and adhesives, affecting their performance and lifespan.
- Maintaining Water Resistance: Periodically, you may wish to reapply a water-resistant treatment suitable for synthetic footwear. This helps maintain the upper's protective qualities. Follow the specific product instructions for application.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
