Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Salomon XT-6 features the Quicklace™ Lacing System for effortless adjustment.
- To tighten: Pull the thin `Quicklace™` cord upwards until the shoe feels snug and secure.
- To secure: Push the plastic stopper down along the laces towards the tongue until it locks into place.
- To stow: Tuck any excess lace and the stopper into the `lace pocket` on the tongue to prevent snagging.
- To loosen: Press the release button on the stopper and pull the stopper upwards, then pull the laces apart to widen the opening.
Compatibility
These sneakers are primarily designed for trail running, ultra-distance races, and challenging outdoor adventures. They perform exceptionally well on:
- Muddy trails
- Rocky paths
- Uneven terrain
- Mixed surfaces
While versatile, their specialized grip and stability features are optimized for off-road conditions and may feel overly aggressive or stiff on smooth, urban pavements for extended periods.
Care
To maintain the performance and longevity of your XT-6 shoes:
- Cleaning: After use, remove loose dirt with a soft brush. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap and warm water. Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight) as they can cause materials to crack or shrink.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Insoles: The OrthoLite® Insole can be removed and hand-washed separately if needed to maintain freshness.
- Inspection: Regularly check the `Contagrip®` outsole for embedded debris and clean it to maintain optimal traction. Inspect laces and overlays for wear and tear.
