Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
Proper preparation is crucial for a lasting finish. Ensure all surfaces are:
- Clean: Remove all dirt, grease, and loose material. Use a suitable degreaser for kitchen walls.
- Dry: Allow surfaces to dry completely before painting.
- Sound: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
- Smooth: Sand glossy surfaces to provide a key for adhesion.
- Primed (if necessary): For bare, porous, or new plaster, apply a suitable primer or a diluted first coat of this paint (refer to manufacturer instructions for dilution ratio). Over existing dark or vibrant colours, a white undercoat can improve coverage.
Application
- Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
- Apply with a brush or roller.
- Apply in thin, even coats, avoiding overspreading.
- Typically, two coats are recommended for best results. Allow adequate drying time between coats (Info needed: [Specific drying times]).
- Maintain good ventilation during application and drying.
Compatibility
This paint is suitable for interior walls and ceilings, including:
- Plaster
- Plasterboard
- Wallpaper (ensure it is firmly adhered and not peeling)
- Previously painted surfaces (after proper preparation)
It is not intended for use on floors, tiles, or exterior surfaces.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Once dry, the painted surface can be gently wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent to remove minor marks and grease. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh scrubbing which can damage the matt finish.
- Storage: Store leftover paint in a cool, dry place, ensuring the lid is tightly sealed to prevent drying.
