Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the turntable from its packaging.
- Power On: Connect the power adapter to the turntable and a wall outlet. Ensure the turntable is placed on a stable, flat surface.
- Place Record: Open the lid, place your vinyl record onto the platter.
- Select Speed: Use the speed selector switch to choose the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) for your record.
- Start Playback: Carefully lift the tonearm, position the stylus over the record's lead-in groove, and gently lower it. Adjust the volume as desired.
Compatibility
This turntable is compatible with all standard vinyl record speeds: 33 1/3 RPM (LPs), 45 RPM (singles), and 78 RPM (older records). It plays all standard record sizes, though an adapter may be needed for 45 RPM singles with a large center hole (often included or sold separately).
Care
- Dust Protection: Always keep the dust cover closed when not in use to protect the platter and stylus from dust and debris.
- Record Cleaning: Use a soft, anti-static brush to gently clean your records before each play to minimize static and improve sound quality.
- Stylus Care: Periodically inspect the stylus for dirt or wear. Use a specialized stylus cleaning brush if necessary. A worn or dirty stylus can damage records and degrade sound.
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the turntable in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperature fluctuations.
