Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: As an automatic watch, the Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Silicium is powered by the motion of your wrist. To set the time and date, gently pull the crown outwards. The first position typically adjusts the date (clockwise) and the second position adjusts the time. Ensure the crown is fully pushed back in after setting to maintain water resistance. If the watch has stopped, wind it manually by turning the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times before wearing it.
Compatibility: This watch is designed as a standalone timepiece. Its strap is typically a standard lug width, allowing for potential replacement with other compatible leather, NATO, or metal bracelets from third-party manufacturers should you wish to customize its look.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the stainless steel case and sapphire crystal with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. The leather strap should be cleaned with a dedicated leather cleaner and conditioner to prevent drying and cracking.
- Water Resistance: While designed to withstand splashes and brief immersion, avoid prolonged submersion. Always ensure the crown is securely in place before exposure to water.
- Storage: When not in use, store the watch in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original box or a soft pouch to prevent scratches. Avoid storing near strong magnetic fields.
