FAQs

How do I clean my Merrell Nova 4 Waterproof shoes?

Use a damp cloth to wipe away dirt and debris. For tougher stains, use a mild soap solution. Avoid using a washing machine or dryer.

Are these shoes suitable for all types of trails?

They are best suited for moderate to rugged trails. For extremely technical or muddy trails, a shoe with more aggressive lugs might be better.

What kind of socks should I wear with these shoes?

Trail running or hiking socks are recommended. Choose socks that wick away moisture and provide cushioning.

Can I use these shoes for road running?

Yes, but they are primarily designed for trails. The outsole might wear down faster on pavement.

How do I ensure the best waterproof performance?

Make sure the tongue is correctly positioned and not allowing water to seep in. Consider applying a waterproofing spray periodically.

What is the lifespan of these shoes?

The lifespan depends on usage, but with regular use, they should last for several hundred miles of trail running or hiking.

Are there any special care instructions for the laces?

Replace laces if they become frayed or damaged. The elastic lace keeper helps keep them secure and prevents them from coming undone.

Troubleshooting

Shoes feel tight or uncomfortable.

Adjust the lacing to find a more comfortable fit. Ensure you have the correct size and consider trying a different sock thickness.

Water is entering the shoe.

Check the waterproof membrane for any damage. Ensure the tongue is properly positioned to prevent water from entering. Consider applying a waterproofing spray.

Poor traction on slippery surfaces.

Ensure the outsole is clean. Be cautious on very wet or icy trails. Consider a different shoe with more aggressive lugs for extremely challenging conditions.
