Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Merrell Moab Speed 2 hiking shoes, follow these best practices:
- Break-in Period: Wear your new shoes around the house or on short walks before attempting a long-distance hike to allow the materials to adapt to your foot shape.
- Sizing: Ensure you have a thumb-width of space in the toe box, especially if you plan to wear thick hiking socks.
- Cleaning: Remove excess dirt after every hike using a soft brush. If mud becomes caked on, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap. Never submerge in water for extended periods.
- Drying: Air dry the shoes naturally at room temperature. Avoid placing them near direct heat sources like radiators or campfires, as excessive heat can degrade the adhesives and structural components of the shoe.
