While they offer excellent comfort and support, their design is optimized for outdoor activities. They can be worn casually, but their primary strength lies in performance on trails and rugged terrain.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is part of the shoe's construction. Clean the exterior of the shoe as recommended in the care instructions. Avoid using harsh chemicals directly on the membrane.

The Moab Speed 2 series emphasizes a lighter, more athletic feel by incorporating increased foam underfoot and breathability inspired by trail running shoes, while retaining the core durability and traction Merrell is known for. This GORE-TEX® version adds waterproofing.

The GORE-TEX® membrane provides waterproofing and some insulation. For very cold conditions, consider wearing thermal hiking socks. These trainers are not rated as insulated winter boots.

The full-length rock plate is a protective layer embedded in the sole that shields your feet from sharp rocks, roots, and uneven terrain, allowing you to hike with greater confidence and comfort.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is durable and designed for long-lasting waterproof performance. Proper care, including regular cleaning and occasional reapplication of water-repellent treatments to the exterior, will help maintain its effectiveness.

Ensure the GORE-TEX® membrane is intact and that laces are tied snugly. Check for damage to the shoe material. Clean the shoes thoroughly and reapply a GORE-TEX®-approved waterproofing treatment if necessary.

Clean the outsole to remove mud or debris. The Vibram® TC5+ rubber is designed for grip, but excessive buildup can impair performance. Check for wear on the lug patterns; significant wear may indicate it's time for replacement.

Ensure you have the correct size and width. Try using different socks or consider adding aftermarket insoles for customized support. Allow for a proper break-in period if the shoes are new.

Remove insoles and air out the shoes after each use. Wash with mild soap and water, and sprinkle baking soda inside to neutralize odors. Ensure they are completely dry before storing.
