Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper preparation and maintenance are key to maximizing the benefits of your Ronseal One Coat Everywhere Matt Interior Paint.
Surface Preparation (Setup)
- Clean: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, and loose material. Use a sugar soap solution for thorough cleaning if necessary.
- Smooth: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth. Lightly sand glossy surfaces to create a key for the paint.
- Prime (Optional/Recommended): For new plaster, porous surfaces, or when painting over very dark or stained surfaces, a suitable primer or base coat is recommended to ensure even absorption and optimal 'one coat' performance.
- Protect: Cover furniture, flooring, and adjacent areas with dust sheets or masking tape.
Compatibility
This paint is designed for a broad range of interior surfaces, including:
- Walls (plaster, plasterboard, wallpaper)
- Ceilings
- Interior wood (e.g., skirting boards, architraves, doors, appropriately primed furniture)
- Interior masonry (e.g., brick, concrete blocks)
It is specifically formulated for interior use only and should not be applied to exterior surfaces, floors, or surfaces that will be immersed in water.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning Painted Surfaces: Thanks to its washable finish, most marks and stains can be gently wiped away with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads which could damage the matt finish.
- Tool Cleanup: Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear and allow to dry.
- Storage: Store leftover paint in its original container, tightly sealed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and frost. Ensure the lid is properly sealed to prevent drying.
