Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Custom Fitting with Boil-and-Bite
To achieve the optimal custom fit, follow these boil-and-bite instructions:
- Boil Water: Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil.
- Submerge Mouthguard: Carefully place the mouthguard into the boiling water for the recommended time (check specific instructions included with your mouthguard, typically 30-60 seconds).
- Cool Slightly: Remove the mouthguard from the water and let it cool for a few seconds. It should be warm, not scalding hot.
- Place and Bite: Position the mouthguard over your upper teeth. Bite down firmly, sucking in to create a vacuum and pressing with your fingers against your lips and cheeks to mold it around your teeth and gums.
- Set the Mold: Hold in place for about 20-30 seconds, then remove and cool under cold water to set the shape. If the fit isn't perfect, you can usually repeat the process.

Care
- After Each Use: Rinse the mouthguard thoroughly with cold water to remove saliva and debris.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the mouthguard with a toothbrush and cool water, or a non-abrasive mouthguard cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or hot water, which can degrade the material or alter its shape.
- Drying: Allow the mouthguard to air dry completely before storing to prevent bacterial growth.
- Storage: Store the mouthguard in a clean, ventilated case to protect it from dirt and damage.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the mouthguard for any signs of wear, tears, or damage. Replace if compromised to maintain optimal protection.
