Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Adjust Torso Length: While the Talon 22 has a fixed torso length, ensure the shoulder straps originate at a comfortable point on your back. The continuous-wrap system is designed to conform to various body shapes.
- Loosen All Straps: Before putting the pack on, loosen the shoulder straps, hipbelt, and load lifters.
- Position Hipbelt: Fasten the hipbelt buckle and center the padded sections over your hip bones. Tighten until snug, allowing for slight movement without sagging.
- Tighten Shoulder Straps: Pull the shoulder strap adjusters down and back until the pack feels secure against your back, without pulling too hard on your shoulders.
- Adjust Load Lifters: Located above the shoulder straps, pull these forward to bring the pack closer to your body and transfer weight effectively.
- Sternum Strap: Fasten the sternum strap across your chest and adjust its height for comfort. This helps stabilize the pack and prevents shoulder strap slippage.
Compatibility
The Talon 22 is designed for adult users. While this specific variant is listed as 'Male,' the Talon series often features a design that can be comfortably worn by a range of body types. Its 22-liter capacity is ideal for day-long adventures across various sports.
Care
- Cleaning: For minor dirt, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For a more thorough clean, hand wash the pack in a tub or large sink with cool water and mild soap. Avoid using hot water, bleach, or harsh detergents. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Drying: Hang the pack upside down in a well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight, to air dry completely. Ensure all zippers and pockets are open to facilitate drying.
- Storage: Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use to prolong its lifespan. Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
