Farrow & Ball Stony Ground - Cream

Stony Ground Estate Emulsion is best suited for low-traffic interior walls and ceilings, such as living rooms, bedrooms, and dining rooms. It is not recommended for high-traffic areas or rooms with high humidity.

We typically recommend two coats of Estate Emulsion for the most even and rich finish. This ensures full colour depth and opacity.

Drying time is usually 2-4 hours between coats, but this can vary depending on temperature and humidity. The surface can be recoated once dry to the touch.

Clean gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing, as the matte finish is delicate. For tougher marks, use a very mild soap solution sparingly and wipe with a clean, damp cloth.

Estate Emulsion has a signature chalky matte finish and is ideal for low-traffic areas. Modern Emulsion has a more durable, washable finish with a slight sheen and is suitable for kitchens, hallways, and bathrooms.

Estate Emulsion is not suitable for woodwork. For woodwork, consider Farrow & Ball's Modern Eggshell or Full Gloss finishes in Stony Ground.

A 5-litre tin of Estate Emulsion typically covers approximately 35-37 square meters (375-400 square feet) of surface area with two coats.

Ensure thorough stirring before and during application. Apply paint evenly, avoiding overworking. Ensure consistent application of two coats and adequate drying time between them.

Use a high-quality brush or roller. Apply paint with even, consistent strokes. Work in manageable sections and maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks.

This often indicates moisture issues or inadequate surface preparation. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and properly primed. Address any underlying moisture problems before painting.

Estate Emulsion has a delicate matte finish. For minor marks, use a *very lightly* dampened cloth and dab gently. Avoid excessive rubbing or harsh cleaning agents.
