Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: To don your Salomon XT-6, simply slide your foot into the shoe. Pull the `Quicklace®` toggle upwards to tighten the laces. Ensure the fit is snug and secure, but not overly tight. Push the toggle down to lock the laces in place. Tuck the excess lace and toggle into the lace pocket on the tongue to prevent snagging.
- First Wear: It's recommended to wear the shoes for shorter periods initially to allow them to conform to your foot shape before undertaking long hikes.
Compatibility
The XT-6 is highly compatible with a wide range of outdoor activities, including:
- Trail Running: Its lightweight design and superior grip make it ideal for varied trail conditions.
- Speed Hiking: Perfect for moving quickly over challenging terrain.
- Everyday Adventure: While specialized, its comfort and stability make it suitable for casual outdoor walks or active daily use, particularly on uneven surfaces.
Care
- Cleaning: After use, especially in muddy conditions, brush off loose dirt. Hand wash with cold water and a mild soap (e.g., dish soap). Avoid harsh detergents. Use a soft brush or cloth for stubborn stains. Do not machine wash.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure shoes are completely dry before storing to prevent odor and mildew.
- Lace Maintenance: Periodically check the `Quicklace®` system for any debris that might impede its function. A quick rinse with water can often clear minor blockages.
