Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
Using your Salomon XT-6 shoes is straightforward, particularly with the Quicklace® system:
- To Tighten: Simply pull the Quicklace cord upwards through the toggle. The toggle will slide down, securely tightening the laces evenly across your foot. Once tightened, tuck the excess lace and toggle into the lace pocket located on the tongue to prevent snagging.
- To Loosen: Push the toggle down towards the shoe's toe. While holding the toggle, pull the laces through the toggle towards the front of the shoe to release the tension.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed for adults and are unisex, fitting a wide range of users. The XT-6 is compatible with various challenging terrains, including rocky trails, uneven paths, and mixed urban environments. Its design is ideal for activities such as speed hiking, trail running, and general outdoor exploration where stability, cushioning, and durability are paramount. They pair well with performance athletic socks for optimal comfort and moisture management.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your XT-6 shoes:
- Cleaning: After use, especially on muddy or dusty trails, gently brush off any loose dirt from the upper and outsole. Use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap (like dish soap) to wipe down the mesh, TPU film, and rubber outsole. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Always allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight, high heat sources (like radiators or dryers), as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are clean and completely dry before storing to prevent odor and mildew.
- Maintenance: Regularly check the outsole for embedded debris or excessive wear on the lugs. Clean the Contagrip® outsole thoroughly to maintain optimal traction.
