Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Ray-Ban RX5228 frames arrive ready for prescription lenses. The most important setup step is to take your new frames to a qualified optician. They will:
- Measure and cut your prescription lenses to fit perfectly within the frames.
- Mount the lenses securely.
- Adjust the frame's temples and nose pads (if applicable) to ensure a comfortable and secure fit on your face. This personalized adjustment is crucial for optimal vision and comfort.
Compatibility
These frames are designed for universal compatibility with most standard prescription optical lenses. Aesthetically, the squared design is highly recommended for individuals with round and oval face shapes, as it effectively adds contrast, definition, and sharp angles that complement and balance softer facial contours. While they can be worn by anyone, those with angular or square faces might find other frame shapes more complementary.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the pristine appearance of your Ray-Ban RX5228 frames:
- Cleaning: Clean your frames regularly using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, or ammonia, as these can damage the acetate material and lens coatings. Always dry thoroughly with a clean microfiber cloth.
- Storage: When not wearing your glasses, store them in their original protective case. This protects them from scratches, dust, and pressure that could cause bending or breakage.
- Handling: Always use both hands to put on and take off your glasses to prevent bending the temples and hinges. Avoid placing them face down on hard surfaces, as this can scratch the lenses or frames.
- Avoid Extreme Heat: Do not leave your glasses in direct sunlight in a hot car or near other heat sources, as extreme temperatures can warp the acetate material.
