Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper preparation and care will maximize the life and appearance of your painted surfaces.
Setup & Application
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, and loose or flaking material. For previously painted or very smooth surfaces, a light sanding may be beneficial to create a key for the paint to adhere to. Wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth and allow to dry completely.
- Stirring: Thoroughly stir the paint before and periodically during use to ensure the colour and consistency are uniform.
- Application: Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer. For best results, apply two thin, even coats. Allow sufficient drying time between coats (refer to product label for specific times, typically a few hours due to its quick-drying nature).
Compatibility
Ronseal Garden Paint is specifically designed for `wood`, `metal`, and `plastic` surfaces in an outdoor setting. It's suitable for items such as:
- Garden sheds and fences
- Wooden benches and tables
- Metal gates and railings
- Plastic planters and garden ornaments
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning Painted Surfaces: To maintain the finish, gently clean painted surfaces with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads that could damage the paint film.
- Storage: Store any leftover paint in its original container, sealed tightly, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and frost. Ensure the lid is properly sealed to prevent the paint from drying out.
- Touch-ups: Small chips or scratches can be carefully touched up with leftover paint if stored correctly.
