Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Ensure you have all the components: handrail lengths, brackets, end caps, and fixings. Gather necessary tools: a screwdriver, level, measuring tape, and optionally, a hacksaw or jigsaw for adjustments.
- Bracket Placement: Mark the desired positions for the brackets on the wall, ensuring they are level. Use a stud finder to locate studs for secure mounting.
- Bracket Installation: Secure the brackets to the wall using appropriate fixings. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the correct spacing and mounting method.
- Handrail Attachment: Attach the handrail lengths to the brackets, ensuring they are securely fastened.
- End Caps: Attach the end caps to the handrail ends for a finished look.
Compatibility
The Rothley Handrail Kit is designed for internal use only. Ensure it is mounted on a structurally sound wall capable of supporting the handrail and users. This kit is suitable for use with walls made of wood, brick, or concrete, provided the correct fixings are used.
Care
- Clean the handrail regularly with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the finish.
- Inspect the handrail and fixings periodically for any signs of wear or looseness.
- Tighten fixings as needed to maintain stability.
