FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for marathon training?
Yes, the Novablast 5 is designed for high-mileage comfort and energy return, making them a great option for training runs.
Can I use these for gym workouts?
While excellent for cardio and treadmill work, the higher stack height may be less stable for heavy lifting compared to specialized training shoes.
How often should I replace these trainers?
Generally, performance trainers should be replaced every 300-500 miles depending on your running style and the surface you run on.
Are these shoes waterproof?
No, the breathable mesh upper is designed for airflow, which means they are not waterproof and may absorb water in heavy rain.
Do these provide arch support?
They feature a neutral design that provides supportive cushioning, though individuals with specific podiatric needs may benefit from custom insoles.
Troubleshooting
Feeling instability during sharp turns
The high-stack cushioning is designed for forward momentum; avoid extreme lateral maneuvers and ensure laces are tightened securely to improve lockdown.
Accumulation of dirt on the white upper
Spot clean the mesh fabric gently with a mild detergent and a soft sponge immediately after use to prevent dirt from setting.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your ASICS Novablast 5 trainers, proper care is essential:
- Fit Check: Ensure the size UK 7.5 provides roughly a thumb's width of space at the toe.
- Cleaning: Remove excess dirt using a soft-bristled brush. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap; avoid fully submerging in water or using a washing machine, as this can degrade the cushioning materials.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can cause the midsole foam to warp or stiffen.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture buildup and potential odor issues.
