Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started
- Try On: When you first receive your boots, try them on with the type of socks you typically wear for play. Ensure a snug, comfortable fit without excessive pressure points.
- Break-In Period: Like most football boots, the Mercurial Vapor 16 Academy TF may require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or casual use before full-intensity matches to allow them to mold to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Turf (TF) surfaces, which include various types of artificial grass. They are not recommended for natural grass (firm ground FG, soft ground SG), indoor courts (IC), or hard courts (HG) as this can damage the outsole and compromise performance and safety.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: After each use, especially on artificial turf, brush off any loose rubber pellets and dirt. Use a damp cloth with mild soap to wipe down the upper. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can help protect them from scuffs and dust.
- Inspect Regularly: Periodically check laces, seams, and studs for any signs of wear or damage. Replace laces if frayed.
