Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting your infant's Roamer Craft shoes ready for wear is simple:
- Open the Riptape Straps: Fully open both Riptape straps to create a wide opening.
- Position the Foot: Gently guide your child's foot into the shoe, ensuring toes lie flat and are not curled.
- Secure the Straps: Fasten the Riptape straps snugly but not too tightly. You should be able to slide a finger easily between the top of the foot and the strap.
- Check Fit: Press down on the front of the shoe to ensure there's about a thumb's width of space between the longest toe and the end of the shoe. This allows for growth and natural foot splay.
Compatibility
- Age Group: These shoes are primarily designed for infants and early toddlers who are just beginning to stand, cruise, and take their first independent steps (typically UK infant sizes).
- Foot Type: The flexible design is generally compatible with most infant foot shapes, allowing for natural development.
- Activities: Ideal for indoor and light outdoor use on stable surfaces. Not intended for rough terrain or extreme weather conditions.
Care Instructions
Proper care will help maintain the quality and longevity of your Roamer Craft shoes:
- Cleaning: For general cleaning, wipe the leather upper with a soft, damp cloth. For tougher dirt, use a specialized leather cleaner suitable for children's shoes. Do not machine wash or submerge in water.
- Drying: If the shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Conditioning: Periodically, apply a small amount of leather conditioner suitable for children's footwear to keep the leather soft and prevent cracking.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Keep them away from strong odors.
