Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & First Use
- Unpack: Remove shoes from packaging.
- Lacing: Ensure laces are correctly threaded through all eyelets.
- Fitting: Help your child put on the shoes. Ensure their heel is at the back of the shoe and there is about a thumb's width space between their longest toe and the end of the shoe.
- Tying: Securely tie the laces. For younger children, consider double-knotting to prevent untying during play.
Compatibility
These Gazelle trainers are designed for kids (unisex) in the specified UK children's foot size. Ensure you select the correct size for a comfortable and safe fit.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your suede Gazelle shoes.
- Initial Protection: Before first wear, consider applying a reputable suede and nubuck protector spray to repel water and stains. Follow product instructions carefully.
- Regular Cleaning:
- Brush: Use a soft-bristled suede brush (or a clean toothbrush) to gently brush off loose dirt and dust *when dry*. Always brush in one direction to maintain the nap of the suede.
- Stains: For minor scuffs or stains, use a suede eraser (or a clean pencil eraser) to gently rub the mark away.
- Deeper Cleaning: For tougher stains, use a specialized suede cleaner following the product's instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water, as they can damage suede.
- Drying: If shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain shape. Air dry away from direct heat sources (like radiators or sunlight), which can stiffen or fade suede.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
