Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
When first using your Nike Phantom Luna II Academy boots, ensure they are laced securely but comfortably. The `soft, stretchy collar` and `anatomical mesh cuff` are designed for a snug fit, which may feel a bit firm initially but will conform to your foot over a few wear sessions. We recommend a short break-in period during light training sessions before competitive play to allow the boots to adapt to your foot's unique shape and minimize any potential irritation, especially around the `asymmetric heel section`.
Compatibility
These boots feature a MultiGround (FG/MG) soleplate, meaning they are designed to perform optimally on:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm and relatively dry.
- Artificial Grass (MG): Modern artificial turf surfaces.
Using these boots on extremely hard ground, concrete, or indoor surfaces is not recommended as it can damage the studs and reduce the boots' lifespan. Always match your boot type to the playing surface for safety and optimal performance.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Remove excess mud and debris using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that can damage the `NIKE SKIN` upper.
- Rinse Gently: If very muddy, you can rinse the boots with water, but avoid submerging them. Do not use hot water, as it can damage materials and adhesives.
- Dry Naturally: Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat sources or sunlight, which can cause materials to crack or stiffen.
- Inspect Studs: Regularly check the `Cyclone 360 soleplate` studs for wear and tear or damage. Clean out any debris lodged between the studs to maintain traction.
- Store Properly: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from scratches and keep them clean between uses.
