The 22mm Lockshield Gate Valve is an essential component for professional plumbers and DIY enthusiasts who need to isolate specific sections of a water supply system for maintenance or repairs. Its primary benefit is the ability to shut off water locally, preventing the need to drain the entire building's plumbing; however, users should note that the lockshield design requires a specific key for operation, which prevents unauthorized adjustments but can be inconvenient if the key is misplaced.

Yes, this valve is suitable for standard domestic water and central heating pipework.
A lockshield valve prevents unauthorized users from turning the water on or off, as it requires a specific key.
No, you only need two appropriately sized wrenches to tighten the compression nuts.
Please check your package contents, as the key is typically required to operate this specific valve design.
Yes, this gate valve can be installed in both horizontal and vertical pipe orientations.
Ensure the pipe is cut square and is free of debris. Tighten the compression nut further, or if the olive is damaged, replace the olive.
Check that you are using the correct lockshield key. If the valve is seized, gently apply penetrating oil and attempt to rock the spindle back and forth to loosen it.
To install, ensure the pipe ends are clean and free of burrs. Slide the nut and olive onto the pipe before inserting the pipe into the valve body. Tighten the nut by hand, then use a wrench to complete the seal with an extra half-turn. Do not overtighten, as this can deform the olive. For long-term care, occasionally turn the valve spindle to prevent mineral build-up or 'seizing,' which can occur in hard water areas. Always keep the lockshield key in a secure, accessible location.
