Product Information

Full details

The Caecus Blackout Roller Blinds in Natural Brown are designed for homeowners seeking total light control and enhanced privacy in bedrooms, nurseries, or media rooms. These blinds feature a high-quality three-pass polyester fabric that provides effective thermal insulation, helping to regulate indoor temperatures throughout the year. While these blinds are highly effective at blocking sunlight, they do require precise measuring of your window recess to ensure a perfect fit, as the fabric width may differ slightly from the total width including brackets.

FAQs

Can I install these blinds on a window door?

Yes, provided there is enough clearance above the door frame to mount the brackets.

Are these blinds machine washable?

No, you should only clean the fabric by wiping it with a damp cloth to prevent damaging the blackout coating.

What tools do I need for installation?

You will need a drill, a pencil for marking, a screwdriver, and a tape measure.

Does the blind come with the screws?

Yes, the kit includes the necessary fittings for standard installation.

Is the fabric fire retardant?

The polyester fabric is durable for standard home use, but please check the specific product label for safety certifications.

Can I trim the width of the blind?

The blind is designed for specific widths. Trimming the roller tube is possible with the right tools, but it may void the warranty and is best done by a professional.

Troubleshooting

The blind hangs unevenly or rolls up crooked

Check that the mounting brackets are perfectly level using a spirit level. If one side is lower, the blind will roll at an angle.

The blind is too wide for the window recess

Verify if you can move to an outside mount, or consider trimming the mechanism width if supported; otherwise, return for a smaller size.

The chain mechanism feels stuck or difficult to pull

Ensure the child safety clip is not pulling the chain too taut and check that no fabric is caught in the roller mechanism.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent light-blocking capabilities for better sleep
  • Effective thermal insulation for energy efficiency
  • Quick and straightforward installation process
  • Sleek and versatile brown finish matches various decors
  • Includes all necessary fittings for immediate setup

Cons

  • Requires drilling for secure installation
  • Fixed maximum drop may not fit exceptionally tall windows
  • Polyester fabric should not be machine washed or submerged

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup Instructions

  1. Measure your window width and height accurately before purchasing.
  2. Choose your mounting preference (inside or outside the recess) and identify if you are top-fixing or face-fixing the brackets.
  3. Use a pencil to mark the drilling points for the bracket positions.
  4. Use a drill to secure the brackets into the wall or frame.
  5. Snap the roller mechanism into the brackets and attach the child safety clip to the wall next to the chain.

Compatibility

These blinds are compatible with standard residential window frames, including wood, PVC, and metal. Ensure you have the correct drill bits for your specific wall material (e.g., masonry bits for brick, wood bits for timber).

Care

To keep your blinds in top condition, wipe them down periodically with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive sponges, as these can damage the specialized three-pass blackout coating.
