Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Salomon XT-6 shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: To tighten, pull the `QuickLace` cord upwards until the desired fit is achieved. Slide the lace lock down towards the shoe's tongue to secure.
- Stowing Laces: Tuck the excess lace and lace lock into the small elastic pocket located on the top of the tongue to prevent snagging.
- Removing: To loosen, press the button on the lace lock and pull the lace lock away from the shoe's tongue, then ease your foot out.
Compatibility
The Salomon XT-6 is highly compatible with a wide range of outdoor activities and terrains:
- Terrain: Excels on technical trails, rocky paths, loose dirt, and uneven natural surfaces. Its grip and stability are well-suited for varied mountain and forest environments.
- Activities: Ideal for trail running, hiking, fast packing, and general outdoor exploration. While versatile, it is optimized for demanding conditions.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your XT-6 shoes:
- Cleaning: After use, especially in muddy conditions, remove loose dirt with a soft brush or cloth. For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure they are clean and dry before storing.
- QuickLace Maintenance: Periodically check the `QuickLace` system for any debris or wear. Rinse with water if mud or dirt accumulates in the lace lock mechanism. Do not lubricate the laces.
