These Forgefix Flat Penny washers have a 25mm outside diameter and are bright zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance. They are similar in size to an old penny. Washers provide a smooth surface for the nut or bolt to bear on, making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface. Their primary purpose is to distribute the load under a bolt head or the nut face in various bolting applications. They can be used with all types of bolts and nuts. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal, creating a longer-lasting finish by forming a barrier and acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide forms a fine white dust, unlike iron oxide. These M5 washers have a 1.5mm thickness and help prevent damage caused by over-tightened fixings. The mild steel has a zinc-plated finish for durability and reliability. Pack of 10.
