Dulux Weathershield Masonry Paint - Pale Slate - 5L

This paint provides a 15-year protected paint film against mould and algae growth, ensuring long-lasting defense and a clean appearance.

It is specifically formulated for exterior masonry surfaces like brick, concrete, rendering, and pebbledash. It is not recommended for wood, metal, or non-masonry surfaces.

For best results and optimal protection, two coats are usually recommended. Highly porous or contrasting surfaces may benefit from an initial thinned coat or primer.

Touch dry time is typically 2-4 hours, but recoat time may vary depending on temperature and humidity. Always check the product label for specific instructions.

It is generally recommended to apply paint when temperatures are between 10°C and 30°C. Avoid painting in extreme cold (below 5°C) or direct hot sunlight, which can affect adhesion and drying.

As this is a water-based paint, brushes and rollers can be easily cleaned with clean water immediately after use.

Ensure the surface was thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from loose material, dust, or grease. Any flaking paint should be removed. Consider priming porous or untreated surfaces.

Apply paint evenly, avoiding overloading the brush or roller. Ensure paint is stirred well before and during use. Apply in consistent strokes and allow proper drying time between coats. Avoid painting in direct hot sun or high wind.

Verify that any existing mould or algae were thoroughly treated with a fungicidal wash and completely removed before painting. Ensure two full coats were applied, and drying conditions were optimal, as the paint offers protection within the film.

This often indicates insufficient coats or poor surface preparation. Apply a second coat, ensuring even coverage. For highly porous surfaces, a primed base is crucial for uniform absorption and finish.
