Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup and Application Instructions
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the surface is absolutely clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any dust, grease, or loose paint. Fill any holes or imperfections for a seamless finish. A primer may be beneficial for highly porous or textured surfaces.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the surface you intend to cover, adding a few extra centimeters to each side for trimming. Use the grid lines on the backing paper for precise cutting with a craft knife or scissors.
- Peel and Apply Gradually: Begin by peeling back about 5-10 cm of the backing paper from one edge. Align the exposed adhesive edge with your starting point on the surface.
- Smooth Out: Slowly peel away more backing paper with one hand while simultaneously smoothing the film onto the surface with a soft cloth, squeegee, or credit card in the other hand. Work from the center outwards to push out any air bubbles.
- Trim Excess: Once fully applied, use a sharp craft knife to carefully trim any excess film around the edges, using a ruler for straight lines.
Compatibility
This vinyl wrap is compatible with a wide range of smooth, non-porous, and clean surfaces.
- Ideal Surfaces: Painted wood, laminate, metal, glass, plastic, and ceramic tiles.
- Surfaces to Avoid (or require extra preparation): Heavily textured walls, unfinished wood, crumbling plaster, or excessively damp environments. Porous surfaces may require a sealant or primer for proper adhesion.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: The wipe-clean surface allows for easy maintenance. Use a damp cloth and mild soap to clean spills or marks. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the film's finish.
- Heat: While heat-resistant up to 75°C, always use placemats or coasters for hot plates and appliances to prevent potential damage or discoloration.
- Protect from Sharp Objects: Although durable, the film can be cut or scratched by sharp objects. Use cutting boards in kitchen areas to protect the surface.
