Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Simply put on the jacket. Adjust the hood's drawstrings for a snug fit around your head, especially in windy or rainy conditions. Ensure the main zipper is fully engaged and zipped up for maximum protection, utilizing the chin guard for comfort.
Compatibility
This softshell jacket is highly versatile for layering. For colder weather, wear a thermal base layer and a fleece mid-layer underneath. In milder conditions, a simple t-shirt or light long-sleeved top will suffice. Its stylish grey color and longer length make it compatible with various casual and outdoor outfits, from hiking trousers to jeans.
Care Instructions
Proper care will maintain the jacket's performance and longevity. As a polyester softshell, follow these general guidelines:
- Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can impair the fabric's breathability and water repellency.
- Drying: Tumble dry on low heat or, preferably, hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. High heat can damage the fabric's membrane and DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish.
- Bleach/Ironing: Do not bleach. Do not iron, as high heat can melt or damage the polyester fabric and its waterproof membrane.
- Storage: Store in a clean, dry place. Ensure the jacket is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
If you notice water no longer beads on the surface as effectively, you may consider re-applying a DWR treatment, available at outdoor gear stores.
